Lieve Van Gorp

Lieve Van Gorp, graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp in 1987, brought anarchic theatricality to Belgian fashion, fusing Catholic iconography, glam rock, goth, and punk with precise tailoring. Her early collections, including Warriors (1991) and her Paris shows between 1999–2001, explored gender fluidity, strength, and transformation through modular leather, fetishistic silhouettes, and graphic, rock-inspired motifs.

Though her career was brief, Van Gorp’s fearless blend of spirituality, rebellion, and theatricality left an indelible mark on Belgian fashion, establishing her as a singular and under-recognized creative voice.
