Mihara Yasuhiro

Mihara Yasuhiro was born in 1972 in Nagasaki, Japan. While studying textile design at Tama Art University, he launched his debut footwear line Archidoom, a portmanteau of Architecture and Doom, turning it into his namesake label MIHARAYASUHIRO in late 1997. He debuted a full men’s and women’s collection at Tokyo Fashion Week for Spring-Summer 2000, before showing menswear in Milan from Autumn-Winter 2005/06 and in Paris from Autumn-Winter 2007/08.

Mihara’s designs often play with perception: single-piece garments that appear layered, scarves merging into jackets. Footwear remains his most renowned work, from early leather shoes channeling Steampunk and Victorian motifs to the trademark sneakers still popular today.
