Raf Simons Autumn-Winter 2002/03 Virginia Creeper Wool Turtleneck
Raf Simons Autumn-Winter 2002/03 Virginia Creeper Wool Turtleneck
A rare knit turtleneck from Raf Simons’ seminal Autumn-Winter 2002/03 collection, Virginia Creeper. Widely regarded as one of the most important menswear collections of the early 2000s, the collection marked a dramatic evolution in Simons’ aesthetic: moving from strict minimalism into a darker, more emotionally charged vision of youth. Inspired by isolation, nature, and self-reliance, the collection featured oversized silhouettes, layered knits, and heavily symbolic graphics that echoed post-apocalyptic romanticism.
The sweater is constructed from a richly textured, multi-weave wool in muted tones of heathered tan and grey. The fabric has a weighty, almost hand-knit feel, with subtle tonal variation and depth.
Condition notes: several holes throughout the body have been professionally repaired and are no longer noticeable, preserving the original structure and wearability.
