Undercover's Spring-Summer 2003 "SCAB" collection emerged against the tense backdrop of post-9/11 global anxiety, with Jun Takahashi channeling the era’s fragmentation and unease into a raw, deconstructed aesthetic. The distressed "SCAB" motif, evoking crust punk and DIY 80s aesthetics, served as a motif for societal trauma, while the collection’s punk-inspired silhouettes and deliberate imperfections mirrored the destabilized geopolitical climate at the time.
