Christopher Nemeth 3D Sketch Trousers
Christopher Nemeth 3D Sketch Trousers
A standout piece from cult British designer Christopher Nemeth, these navy cotton trousers feature his iconic “sketch line” motif: yellow stitch-like screen-printed graphics that mimic construction lines and pattern drafting. The effect is sculptural, turning flat fabric into an illusion of three-dimensional structure. Triple-button fly closure, angled patchwork knee paneling, and a cropped, subtly flared leg reflect Nemeth’s experimental, utilitarian tailoring.
Originally a painter and artist, Christopher Nemeth began making clothes from discarded materials while living in London in the 1980s. His work caught the attention of photographer Mark Lebon and stylist Judy Blame, leading to a loyal underground following. Nemeth later relocated to Tokyo, where his designs, blending deconstruction, surreal graphics, and DIY construction, achieved cult status among avant-garde circles and deeply influenced designers like Rei Kawakubo and Jun Takahashi.
