The Spring–Summer 2000 collection drew on the codes of school uniforms, starched shirting, varsity insignias, and Latin text, with Simons exploring how structure and identity are internalized and ultimately broken. Tropes from Flemish subculture, such as gabber aesthetics, supplemented this, as Simons appropriated them to mine his emerging techno-fascination with uniformity.
