Veronique Branquinho striped turtleneck sweater, Autumn-Winter 2005/06. The wool sweater is color-blocked in a sequence of horizontal stripes running from tan through dark brown, gold, and cream, finished with a fitted turtleneck collar, set-in sleeves, and ribbed cuffs and hem.
For Autumn-Winter 2005/06, Branquinho drew on the men in her daily life, reworking traditional menswear through British fabrics and precise tailoring. The collection favored restraint over spectacle, and pieces like this sweater carried the same meticulous craftsmanship and attention to pattern and texture that ran through its quieter, more wearable looks.
